vtools is a 68kMLA project, but research and notes for it are in part going here. It has its own web site and its own subforum.
The intent of the project is to provide a community toolbox for the 68kMLA. This includes data storage, web hosting, and ultimately vintage-friendly email.
Vtools as it stands today is a Power Macintosh G4 “QuickSilver 2002” running Mac OS 9.2.2 and AppleShare IP 6.3.3.
The system has 1GB of RAM and a 40GB hard disk, and additional storage is, at present, connected with firewire.
vtools is set to be migrated to newer hardware running Mac OS X Server. Mac OS X Server has the advantage of working on newer hardware, being more reliable, opening up a few more services that can be run, and allowing bigger single volumes.
The ultimate intent is to split homes, osx-sw and classic-sw into their own separate disks, to maximize on available space for each task. An enclosure such as this https://www.startech.com/HDD/Enclosures/usb-esata-removable-5-drive-enclosure~S355BU33ERM will eventually be used.
